It’s well known that hyperthyroidism can artificially increase renal excretory function but less well known that hyperthyroidism and iatrogenic hypothyroidism can damage the kidneys and decrease renal function. Attendees will learn whether the development of posttreatment azotemia is important in hyperthyroid cats and how to diagnose and treat iatrogenic hypothyroidism.
